What are Small Groups?
• 12–15 People • 90 Minutes Weekly
• 10–12 Weeks
Small Groups are where we strive to become better disciples together at epikos church. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ means that we are continually growing in becoming more Christlike. Following the model that Jesus and the early church provided for us, we believe that this growth occurs when we engage with God’s Word and with one another.
Small Groups are comprised of 12–15 people that meet weekly over the course of 10–12 weeks for 90 minutes to build community, discuss the week’s sermon passage, and pray with and for one another. Throughout the Milwaukee area, we offer designated groups for men, women, couples, and general groups which are open for anyone to join.
Small Group FAQ
How do I sign up for a group?
Sign up for the Fall 2018 sessions is now closed. The winter/spring session will start in February 2019. At that time, registration can be done in one of two ways:
1. Online: A sign-up button will be added to this page at sign-up time. It will link to a page that lists all groups and you’ll be able to choose the group that works best for your location and schedule.
2. Print/Connect Card: All groups will be listed in a printed catalog available in Sunday Services. Just fill out an orange Connect Card with three groups that work for your location and schedule, and drop it in an offering bucket at a Sunday morning service.
NOTE: If you are a couple signing up for a couple’s or general group together, each person should sign up for the group separately.
What happens when I sign up?
When you sign up, the leader of your new small group will contact you with the address of the group’s meeting place, the start date and time, and all the other information you’ll need to plug into the group.
When will my small group meet?
Small groups meet for 90 minutes once a week for 10–12 weeks. Some groups meet in the morning, some meet in the evening, and some meet during the day.
Is there a cost to join a group at epikos?
There is no cost to join our regular small groups! Specialty groups do have a cost which covers materials.
Do I need to bring anything with me to Small Group?
The most important thing to bring is a heart for connecting with God and with others. In addition, a Bible and a Small Group Study Guide will help you to prepare and participate in the group discussion. Study guides are available in the lobbies at our West Allis and North Side locations and in the Café at the East Side.
