Lead Pastor Job Description
The detailed job description was developed from information gathered during months of deep conversation and prayer with staff and Overseers, feedback and insights gathered from the church-wide online survey conducted in March, and MultiSite Solution’s guidance and expertise. We then collaborated with Vanderbloemen Search Group (VSG) to craft the detailed, epikos-specific job description (this included a site visit to epikos in late May). As shared in last month’s update, VSG is a premier church-staffing partner committed to helping epikos search for our next Lead Pastor. The Application Process
The process for both internal and external candidates is the same. As applications are reviewed, VSG thoroughly vets and researches all applicants. Following their initial screening process, they conduct in-person interviews to get to know the most qualified candidates. Throughout this process, VSG provides regular updates to the Overseers.
The Interview Process
Once the Application Process is completed, VSG will return to epikos to meet with the Overseers to present a prayerfully curated, unbiased list of final candidates (typically 5-7, including any internal applicants) they believe are uniquely gifted to fill the position of Lead Pastor at epikos. We anticipate that presentation in late August. From there, VSG moves into an advisory role as we begin interviewing, meeting, and growing relationships with these key applicants. We will communicate more specifics when we draw near to that exciting phase of the search.

- Pray for unity and wisdom for our Overseers, that no one person would have an agenda that would cause a distraction or deterrent from God’s work throughout the pastor search process.
