Pray for our next steps!

In May of 2014, epikos employed six full-time and seven part-time staff. Twenty-two months later, we sit at 15 full-time and 3 part-time staff. God has been blessing us with amazing growth as a church and as a staff.

We have two equal over-arching priorities at epikos: To make more disciples and to make better disciples. To help us improve how we do that, we have launched a nation-wide search for a Next Steps Director. This individual will be leading the way in maintaining, creating, and reimagining clear pathways for people to take next steps in their life with Christ. From getting baptized to getting plugged into a small group to serving on a team, we are at a phase in ministry and growth in which we will greatly benefit from having specialized oversight of these steps.

And so as we begin the search, a few promises:

  1. We promise to staff smartly. For the past three years, we have experienced consistent and steady growth. That growth demands prayerful and strategic decisions about staffing and ministry needs.
  2. We promise to listen. One of the top qualities of the leaders at epikos (paid or unpaid) is that we are all seeking God’s best for Milwaukee and the church. To that end, we will not make staffing decisions in a vacuum. We are constantly listening, watching, and assessing to be as faithful as possible for the sake of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  3. We promise to hire well. There is a long-standing commitment from the Overseer Board and the Pastors and Directors to be prayerful, patient, and deliberate in all of our searches for new staff. It’s about finding the right fit, not the good enough fit.

How can you participate?

Pray. It’s always a step of faith when we launch into a search for a new staff member. We would covet your prayers for two things: 1) That we would be honoring to the body of Christ and the candidates as we move through the interview process, and 2) That God would make it obvious who the next person is to join our team. We are expectantly excited for the day when we will introduce this new staff member to you!
